We are delighted to announce that David Finlayson is now making wines full time at his Edgebaston farm on the slopes of the Simonsberg, having been freed from his previous wine-making contract with Glen Carlou. His property has twenty four hectares planted with vines on shale soils typical of the Stellenbosch region and is one of only three farms in the region to have Tannat planted. David’s grandfather, Dr Maurice Finlayson, was a well-known pathologist from Inverness in Scotland hence the distinctive thistle logo on the Edgebaston label. David is truly passionate about his winemaking and his joy of combining art and science for the pleasure of others is reflected in his wines which demonstrate classic structure, intensity and above all style.
